Artists featured in The Last Troubadour #1 include writer/creator/plotter/editor/publisher Bennett Neuhauser, interior artist Sarah Christoff, cover artist Caleb Prochnow! The Back cover artist is Devin Dion! Our inside back cover, which brings to life the dynamic superhero Alloy, was delivered by the great Thomas Yeates, whose work on characters like Tarzan and Zorro, to name just two, are familiar to Dark Horse® fans. And our inside front cover is a cherished contribution from a true comics genius, none other than “Genial” Gene Colan of the legendary Marvel® bullpen, my favorite comic book artist of all time.

In case you are wondering, we know our pantheon of heroes is an eclectic group, but they do share some common threads. For instance, they all live and work in Wisconsin, the Land of Sky Blue Waters. Why? Because that’s my home state and because, doggone it, the Great Lakes region deserves its own comic book characters.
Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit, Des Moines and the Great Northwoods all serve as settings for current and future stories about our characters. And, in time, you will discover just how intertwined their lives will become, despite their disparate beginnings. The great thing is, you’re here, right at he very start, the nascent moment, the primordial essence, the … well, you get the idea. And we want you to come along for the ride and let us know how we’re doing and what you think of our characters every step of the way.

Our goal, in addition to providing you with outstanding entertainment, will be to meet the publishing deadlines we promise – one of the biggest challenges of the truly independent comic book publisher and one of the most important issues for loyal readers who choose to devote their time and interest to us.
So, this first year, we plan just one printed edition. The next year, if you demand it, we will go quarterly, and the next, bi-monthly or monthly. In between, you’ll find new content online at www.DreamSub.com on a regular, ongoing basis, in the form of short stories, background information and artwork that will keep you up to date on the latest activities of the key characters in the Dream Sub Comics Universe.
We’re glad to have you aboard for what we hope will be a long ride of mutual discovery, action and adventure – with plenty of just plain fun thrown in for good measure.
